Advanced Weightlifting Course Collaboration



KBTEducation are very proud to announce our first educational collaboration. Senior British Weightlifting Coach, & Director of Strength and Conditioning for the 2013 Armed Forces Rugby League World Cup Sam Dovey, will be working in Partnership with British Weightlifting Staff Coach Cyril Martin, delivering the most advanced Weightlifting course in the UK!

Cyril Martin, has been involved in Weightlifting for over 55 years as a competitor and has been a coach for over 45 years! Over this time he has developed many Weightlifters that have accrued Over 10 English Titles, 27 British Titles and British and Commonwealth records. He has also developed Weightlifters that have competed at European, World and Olympic Level, representing team GB. In addition to Cyril's development of lifters, he is also responsible for developing British Weightlifting Coaching Courses from 2003. He is the current co-author of the British Weightlifting Assistant Club Coach and Club Coach Courses and is involved in the course delivery.


Cyril will be bringing his considerable experience with weightlifters, which he has gained as an international lifter and a coach. He will also be bringing his in depth knowledge of periodisation which he has refined over the last 50 years and developed his own modern weightlifting system himself, after researching world weightlifting systems from 2000-2004. Combining this experience and knowledge, with Sam Dovey's 18 year Strength and Conditioning career and 10 year Weightlifting coaching career, will bring together two very accomplished and experienced coaches, who have developed many champions and record holders in Weightlifting and many other sports.


This will provide the best possible learning experience for our students. The reason why KBTEducation have developed an Advanced Weightlifting Course in conjunction with Cyril Martin, is to provide existing and developing Weightlifting, Crossfit and Strength and Conditioning Coaches with the latest continual professional development.
